About | Stevo the Bass

Stevo the Bass brings a fresh perspective to the UK Roots and Steppers scene.

With a lifetime in music, behind the mixing desk as well as being an accomplished reggae bass guitarist, Stevo brings the live element to new levels within the digital-roots sound.

Stevo the Bass’s music features deep growling bass lines, a rich horn section, a driving wall of percussion, and hypnotic dubs.

Stevo's sound takes inspiration from the scene leading legends such as Alpha Steppa, Zion Train, Vibronics, and Kanka.

Following the release of the 3-part album, ‘Nascent Roots’ in 2025, Stevo the Bass has most recently joined forces with Ras Tinny (Steppas Records) to release a 12" vinyl of ‘Just One Day Inna March’.

The track is a soundsystem friendly bass-heavy juggernaut, which espouses Tinny's timeless wisdom around honouring our parents everyday of the year rather during tokenistic rituals.

Having first met when Alpha Steppa brought Ras Tinny along to the 'Nascent Roots, Part-3' release show, Stevo and Ras Tinny kept in touch and together brought this riddim to fruition.

In the live arena, Stevo has played on several world class soundsystems, such as Firmly Rooted, More Fire Outernational, and Supercharge.

Artists Stevo has recently played alongside include Zion Train, Alpha Steppa, Vibronics, Ras Tinny, Sukannya and Lei Di Dai.

Stevo is quickly gaining a strong reputation for creating intricate and unique soundscapes with his dubs, with the heavyweight bass lines to move any crowd.
